Wedding?... OH yeah...

I missed it. Martha's Wedding episode. But there are some great tools, and tips on the site! I cant get enough of this stuff. I must say, I am getting pretty excited about this year, but in the meantime, I don't give this stuff much thought anymore. School has overcome me. It is like I am in robot mode. Working its just a burden. But then again, K bought a treadmill for our health. I think ill be using some of the images from MSL site to create a wall of motivation to stare at when I am treading away..lol

Monday Again?!

This weekend was chuck full of stretching canvas, sketching, reading about children and their Art, thinking up lesson plans, and getting through this book! I would suggest this to anyone - It was a good read, easy to get through and some good humor. She documents her first year of teaching, - It is a bit mentally exhausting - Just because you sympathize with her struggles and all her efforts. After that she still gets flack from Administration.

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

5th Grade!

This semester I have 5th graders. I was assigned my class grade today for the spring semester lab teaching. I am pretty excited to have a grade that will have spunk and energy. There are so many things that can be done with this grade level. Im excited to see what they creatively come up with. My only concern is honing in on my classroom management skills and control the classroom properly :) I am a senior in college finally. Well... At a 4 year college. :) I cant wait to graduate in the fall. Also, I picked up some canvas today - YES canvas. I will be leaving my tiny paintings behind me and experimenting with some large stretchers. Im not sure what I will be painting just yet, but I have some brainstorming to do. As for this weekend: it should be CHUCK full. I have a book to complete, 5-6 lesson plans to come up with 4 chapters to read, and some paintings to work on!!! AND its only the first week of school LOL..

Illustration Friday "E is for..."

So far, I havent checked out anyone elses work on Illustration Friday. I chose Eternity. I am curious if this word has already been done. I have a trinity knot ring that my boyfriend picked up in Ireland a couple years back. I wearing all the time on my left ring finger. Its three equal arcs represent equality, its continuous line expresses eternity, and interweaving represents indivisibility. *in other news* My good friend Barb came over for some dinner lastnight and to discuss what paintings and photos I should show at a local Starbucks for the month of March. Sorta excited, but I am just doing it for an audience, not for sales. That is such a grey area for artist I believe. My boyfriend, Barb and I sat discussing that detachment to art, and whether or not to take that leap- and what does it do for you? Why let go?

Real Age?

In keeping with the theme of aging,, -I went on Realage.com and learned I am not as young and I want or hope to me. I want to believe this is due to stress, and haveing no basic schedule to my life, I am strapped to a computer desk or in a class. I cant wait to have a normal lifestyle and take my ass to a gym. If you think you are your real age.... GUESS AGAIN.!! but hey you might be younger? you never know.. Hey - take this quiz (the long one) and post your real age here :)

Illustration Friday

This week Illustration Friday is "Sea". Im not in the "sea" mood, merely because it is 30 degrees outside my door, and I just took down my Christmas decor. Today I visited my 92 year old Great Grandmother. She has Alzheimer's and does not respond to much. Her body is slowing down, and she sleeps very often. Its seems like the more I see her in this state, those memories of her in the past are overridden by her present state. She had energy, that woman (the way I prefer to remember her). I mentioned that how amazing it was to be 92 years old, and we should be so lucky to make it that long. And the comment was made, I hope we don't make it that long. - This gets me thinking. Is life worth living if your only existing? Your memory is gone. Everyone is a stranger now. How incredibly horrible, or blissful? Who is to know? This is a picture of her, her daughter, her two grand daughters, two great grand daughters, and two great- great grandsons.

Twenty Somethings

whooped my ass

Yesterday Barb turned 28, I will too this summer. We talked about life, a lot about love, accomplishments and struggles. 30 seems so far away for people that still feel 18 inside. I wonder if all twenty somethings feel this limbo of enjoying dumb young fun vs. committed quality investing. Its a race, and noone knows the wiser who is in the lead, or what the rules of the game are. I guess we will know when we get there.

Love to bake..

I have an affection.. for baking. For making the kitchen an absolute disaster. For using every untensil, every measuring cup, and filling the dishwasher completely. Im not sure if this is a disorder. But, the two cookbooks I have gotten from christmas have been a JOY to have in my kitchen. My brain thinks internet- (run up stairs google search a recipe, print and cook.) It has been so fun to cook from cookbooks!! This may sound dumb, but it really is a joy. Our family cookbook is almost complete. We have used every resource known to our family to get this done. I hope to have it out very soon!
