Yaris or Xa?

I dont anticpate that my 96 Toyota 'Crayola' will poop out on me anytime soon, but it is always fun to look. Ive been seeing some nice small cars on the road, that remind me of a more European style car. Here are two cars that are would be interested in : Scion Xa (on the left) and the 2007 Toyota Yaris. The Yaris is super affordable, I would have to sit in one to see if I could fit :) I'm a big fan of 'Yotas merely because my car is the most reliable thing. I have only owned two cars in my life. - Yes OWNED.. I fear making payments again. But it is nice to keep my eyes open.

Teaching Day 2

Yahoo! Avatars
Teaching is great - One of my students gave me a drawing she made of me before I started teaching. It was the sweetest gesture. My second class went well although the teacher informed my my lesson would be cut 15 minute short - I was not a happy camper. Soo needless to say their Japanese scroll drawings are not finished. This week they have off so Ill need to finish up the lesson next week. I am excited to finish up their work and attach them to a nice scroll like I said I would due to their good behavior. I am working on their next lesson, a graphic design lesson. THIS SHOULD BE FUN.

Happy Valentines Day

I hope everyone has a happy valentines day. My love is in Egypt. My heart is with him. All the years, all the time, all the miles, all the emails and phone calls: it has brought us so far. This week with him away, Ill be making coffee for one, and my mind brings me to a breezy car ride we once took to a park. Quiet moments bring me to memories like this. Of how I would drive for hours to see him. A person changes in a car when they are driving to such a destination. I enjoy these memories we made. Youth is an amazing bottle of energy, bliss and beauty. We were, and are unstopable. Cheers to all the diehard romantics, the high school sweethearts, and cheers to second chances.

As soon as one thing is finished there is something else due that same day. My bills are getting larger, my pay is getting smaller, and my mind is loosing some screws.... This too shall pass.

Off he goes...

simple

He's off to Eygpt. I'm bummed more than anything. Although life is hectic for me.. and school is consuming, hugging goodbye is so wrong. I want him to stay home. I am going to keep busy with my own "Book Club" reading assignments for class. This includes:

First day.....................

THIS IS the first day I had a class to myself. Taught my first lesson. One down - Nine to go. It went very well I must say. Some bumps in the road - but my students have a great understanding of how to get quiet quick. I will be rewarding them through Art History quizing next Thursday. I enjoyed seeing all the work they produced. And I made it. I wasnt worried a bit. My professor is so amazingly inspiring, and encouraging.

Illustration Friday

I think it's his baby. .. .. His Stickley Leopold's Blue Leather Tufted CHAIR : you dont get much more cozy than this... I remember the first time I sat in it.. He said.. "That is the ugliest chair I have ever seen".... 'NO' I replied.. 'you HAVE to sit in this thing!"... He did.. and he fell in love with it. He wanted it in blue leather.. I would have loved it in a paisley or cute gingham :)

U gotta B kidding..

Listening to NPR on the way to Studio, I heard a man being interviewed about his Aibo. What took my interest was that it was being discontinuted by Sony. I have never heard of a Aibo - yeah maybe i saw something like this on the Today Show.. but... never looked into it. The interview goes on to inquire how much this one man has invested in this now discontinued robot dog product.. (drum roll) 95,000.00 worth or robotic pups. YES. His reasoning behind it was now that the kids are grown, his penny pinching years were over, so he invested in Sony Aibo's. There is a name for the owners of these things "Aiboners". ONE of these things will set you back $2300.00- I now tend to think the owners are appropriately named. In other news NASA is getting Bored!
